Barossa Day Tour
- Duration: 8 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Angaston
- Product code: BV18
Be collected from your Adelaide city hotel or accommodation and travel into the Adelaide Hills past picturesque countryside and through historic townships to arrive in the Barossa Valley.
Our winery visits begin in the southern part of the Barossa Valley at the intimate cellar door of Kies Family Wines. Enjoy their friendly and informal approach whilst experiencing some of the small batch wines made from the 6th generation of the Kies family. If you have missed out starting your day with a coffee, drop into their Monkey Nut Café to fill the void.
Continue your tour travelling deeper into the Barossa Valley and enjoying the view of the ever expanding vineyards. Learn about the German Lutheran history and the Silesian influence on the Barossa Valley from the early days of settlement in the 1830’s.
Throughout the day, enjoy the flexibility of a small group tour to visit different wineries suited to your palate. Our guide will get to know your interests and preferences in wine styles earlier in the day and will attempt to visit a couple of wineries that we believe will be well suited.
Stop for a stroll in the township of Tanunda and enjoy exploring shops, museums, Lutheran churches and historic stone buildings.
Take in the magnificent views of the Barossa Valley from the scenic lookout at Mengler Hill. Here your guide will explain the development of the valley over the generations and point out iconic landmarks throughout the vista.
Travel to the township of Angaston to enjoy a 2-course lunch at the South Australian Company Store Kitchen. Enjoy a wine and food matching for entrée followed with a main course selected from a list of choices.
You will learn quickly that there is more to the Barossa Valley than just wine when we visit the Barossa Valley Cheese Company followed by the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company in the afternoon.
With 4 wineries visited throughout the day, guests may get the opportunity to experience tastings from cellar doors such as Kaesler, St Hallett wines, Rockford, Chateau Tanunda, Penfolds, Langmeil, Peter Lehmann, Grant Burge just to name a few.
Please remember that we do attempt to visit cellar doors that we feel will be a good match for our guests interests and palate. This is something we can achieve with our small group approach and flexibility.
